![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I loved the side story about Taurus's sister, Virga, and the man with whom she falls in love because she is seduced by his ideas. There was so much intrigue in ancient Rome, and the story demonstrates very well how it sometimes got the better of those who did the scheming. The love scenes are hot and convincing, and I liked the way the author weaves history through the passionate interaction of her characters. ![]() Taurus has never run up against a woman like Kallie - from their first meeting, she gets the better part of him and continues to do so all through the book, even when he (mistakenly) thinks he has the upper hand. He is definitely not prepared to meet Kallie, sister of the Emperor, and Taurus's enemy. Taurus, as a hero, is quite the character - strong, utterly gorgeous and conflicted from his upbringing at the hands of his evil grandmother. Having read and enjoyed the author's first book in this series, Maximus, I was eager to get my hands on Taurus and partake of another trip to ancient Rome. She asks, “I am asking myself, what does it mean to write with Indigenous theory?
